Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion Women Junior Folkstyle Duals - Interest List

First, Thank you MAC Wrestling for hosting a great tournament and to you girls for wrestling hard. I watched amazing competition and close matches today.

As I stated today at the tournament, I am checking on interest in the Folkstyle Junior Duals Sunday, March 27th following the Folkstyle Nationals in Oklahoma City. The weight classes will be the same. Girls that wrestle in the tournament will not have to weigh-in for the dual tournament.

Weights for the tournament and duals:
Junior (Born September 1, 1991 and after PLUS currently enrolled in grades 9-12): 97, 105, 112, 117, 121, 125, 130, 139, 148, 159, 172, 198

This thread is to check on interest in competing in the duals to check if we will be entering a team.

If there is anyone else that would like to express interest in competing please let me know your name and weight class so we can check if we will be able to fill a team. You may either email me this information or post it on the thread. Though we can register until the weekend of the tournament it would be great to know with the Kansas Kids State Tournament occurring the same weekend. At this time it is only an interest list, so please let me know as soon as possible.

This will be a great opportunity to get more mat time against some quality wrestlers, please contact Brooke if you are even a little interested to get the details. We need to field a team from Kansas and represent!

At this point, it does not look feasible to put together a team. Not that there has not been interest but that we do not have the diversity in weights that we need. We have multiples at weights but from the weights that I have, we would still be missing a large number of weight classes.

I would love to put together a team next year! Athletes, parents, and coaches, if you see prospective team members next year, let me know and we will push for this again. Thank you for all the hard work to make this happen and next year we will make this happen!

sad news, I tried. Next year will be Summer's last chance... let's definitely try again!
