i bought a medal off of ebay, i thought it would be cool to send it to the person who won it can someone point me in the right direction or can you tell me who it is. thanks.
1984 kansas high school regional 3rd place 98 pounds 3-2-1A
thats all the info i have on medal, just think i would be cool for the guy who won it to open a letter to find it inside, maybe he threw it away, sold it at a garage sale, lost it either way someone from another state ended up with it. i know might be goofy but keeps me busy when i am not working.

I would try contacting KSHSAA, if he was 3rd he probably went to State in 321A which should narrow your list to 16 and at least give you some names and schools to contact. I would imagine they have records on file and I would hope they would share them with you for something like this.
I think it is cool you are trying to get the medal back to the owner, good luck.

Nix,
I am still looking for all of my 4A State placing medals. Could you help me out? If you could, that would be the magic trick to end all magic tricks, because I didn't earn one.
By the way, cool deal what you are trying to do. Let us know how it turns out.

According to a book that I have,"Kansas High School Wrestling Championships: 1930-1996", that medal was won by Scott Crawford from Plainville.

It was compiled from newspaper articles by Rufus Janzen in 1996. At that time his address was 2745 Sundowner Rd.; Salina 67401. Telephone: 913-827-5727

I think we may have tracked down the wrestler in question - he now lives in Hays and we're working on getting his phone number - I got in contact with Mandi @ the Plainville club and she's working on it. Pretty cool!

Remember*, that inscription on back of medal says <Regional> meaning that it could actually belong to any of the 4 Regional winners from 98# small class in 84. ..and NOT the State 3rd place medalist, so Scott Crawford, unless he placed 3rd at a regional Tourney may not be your man.

It is definitely a Regional medal, which does open up more than one possible previous owner. If I had to guess, there is likely only one previous owner that doesn't still have their medal.
