We've all arrived safely at the Beach ... absent some luggage which is on a later flight!! A mild NorthEaster is making conditions a bit miserable with rain and wind!!

A couple of other members of Team Kansas are arriving this evening ... maybe they'll bring the missing luggage!

I will be posting throughout the experience but now I have to catch up a bit on e-mails and go over to the venue and get some paperwork!!

Thusday morning ... 1st things 1st ... all luggage is here!! Team Kansas is whole and there will be no hygenic segragation!!!

Wake up call went out at 6:30 am ... we met in the lobby at 7:30 and headed to the venue (in the blowing mist.) Team Kansas had their team picture taken and followed that with a workout. The next thing on the Senior schedule is for the 6 pm weigh-ins ... and whatever that entails for the wrestlers!

Myself? Coach Ulmer and I are making sure all the t's are crossed and the i's are dotted!

We will also spend some time watching the other divisions wrestle!

Thanks but the inside info had to move outside! About 1:30 pm I was visiting with a couple of coaches in my room and the hotel alarms went off!

We followed the directions and went down 9 flights of stairs to the outside. There was a wrestler and young coach standing in a cocoon of towels!!

After the fire department arrived and inspected the building we are all allowed back inside!!

Team Kansas has weighed in ... a couple of wrestlers are moving up.

Tomorrow Team Kansas will test their metal ... this will rival any folkstyle tournament as being the best in the Nation! Several Collegiate coaches are here evaluating the Juniors and several others will be present for the next three days!

The level of anticipation is palpable ... tomorrow we will divide the ones who really wish to compete and those looking for a vacation!! There is little doubt that even our experienced winners have got to be on top of their game!!

Even then, they have to clearly separate themselves from all the wrestlers who are competing in this tournament!! At this tourney there are more matches decided by one point than perhaps any tourney of the season!!

Make your luck Team Kansas!!!

I wish that I was posting more wins for Team Kansas! However, these are arguably the toughest brackets out wrestlers have even drawn. There are NO easy matches!

Many of our wrestlers are use to only seeing one maybe two tough kids in a day. At the NHSCA Nationals, even with "opening up entries" every matchup is brutual!!

Hopefully the Kansas kids can do better then the DODDS kids have been doing. In the fr-jr nationals they combined for a 1-9 record.

152 European runner up Kevin Andrus at 152 is there competing for Sr Nationals.

European's best shot to win a few would be Marshall Haas though at 189, but we will see if jet lag affects the guys.
