For those of us in the KC Metro area, this movie is now playing at the Glenwood & Tivoli theaters. It is Rated R for language.

Paul Giamatti stars in WIN WIN, a funny and emotionally satisfying film that critics are already calling one of the Best Movies of 2011. Writer/director Thomas McCarthy (THESTATION AGENT) continues to emerge as a great American humanist filmmaker. Struggling attorney Mike Flaherty (Giamatti), who volunteers as a high-school wrestling coach, takes on the guardianship of an elderly client in a desperate attempt to keep his practice afloat. When the client’s teenage grandson runs away from home and shows up on his grandfather’s doorstep, Mike’s life is turned upside down as his win-win proposition turns into something much more complicated than he ever bargained for.

Here's a link to the trailer:

I caught Paul Giamatti on Conan and he said the kid was a New Jersey state champion.

I watched the trailer and the kid's bleached blonde hair made me think of high school state and the guys/teams who showed up with strangely colored hair.

Was able to view the movie at The Glenwood Theater matinee showing today at a "sold-out" crowd. The crowd comprised of a great deal of "gray hairs" that were able to "belt out a good laugh" during the funniest moments.

Did take the 10 y.o. because when inquiring about the language it related primarily to the "wrestler explaining to his team mates his own special move" of how he gets out from being on bottom. Kind of l-o-n-g in moments but action was good. The New Jersey wrestling fans & setting should be pround of such a highly acclaimed Sundance film festival that shined a spotlight on an interesting story.

This was an enjoyable movie yet for 10 y.o.'s at least & up. It's not splotched with a lot of bad words except the sh*+ word. Was glad I'm in KC @ BAN to watch it on our break day.
