What were the most exciting match at State?
I think the simi-final 12 amd under 88lbs. match w/ Deshazer and the 96 lbs. match match w/ Cotton two of the more exciting matches
I also think the match between Cox and Furches was good too.
What do think? Any other matches worth mentioning?

Didnt see all the matches on all the mats, but hung around the 10s & 12s alot. Its very hard to pick out the best match because of so many good ones. On mat 4 sunday there were so many overtimes and dbl overtimes it was CRAZY! The whole morning was also filled with tons of last second wins and one or two pt wins. If you couldnt get excited about those matches, then you dont have a pulse. WOOOOOW!!!

10u 67: Hood vs Shoemaker

These two boys go after it every time. No caution. They just battle.

Hood had won at least 10 in a row over Shoemaker. Always close. There have been overtime wins and double overtime wins for Hood. But you could just sense that Shoemaker's time was coming.

It was 0-0 in regulation. Shoemaker wins the takedown in overtime. Even the way he got the takedown...Shoemaker has a head outside single and trying to drive across and Hood is fighting with everything he has...WHAT A MOMENT...

What makes these kind of matches even more fulfilling is that both boys are classy kids with classy parents...the boys respect each other, the parent respect each other, the parents respect the boys...

That match represented everything good about this sport.

i thought that the most exciting match would probably have to be the Nathan Furches and Trent Cox finals match. they are such good scramblers and neither of them ever gave up. they are both studs.

Hats off to Shoemaker for the upset. Bigger hats off for Hood taking it in stride like a true champion should. Great year guys!

Very true. All the Hoods are champions. They handle both the winning and the losing parts of this sport with the grace and dignity that true champions should...

What was the score the to the Furches vs Cox match? When they wrestled at earlier in the year at Rose Hill, Cox seemed to dominate him.

My vote would be for the match between Jamon Cotton and Sam Son 12u/96 in the Semis. When those two meet it is always an exciting match.

I worked a table for the first time this year. I know this, I am glad I volunteered, was much better to watch from there than up in the stands. There were a number of great matches on our mat.

If Rempe wouldn't of lost to Treinen at districts he would of been wrestling Detmer in the Semis. And if Rempe wouldn't of lost Whittit in his opening round he would of probably had the chance to wrestle for first and second. Detmer by far was the one to beat but Whittit,Treinen and Rempe can beat each other on any given day. They all are very good wrestlers!

12u 88 pounds Tanenbauam vs. DeShazer I agree was a great match-Tanenbaum beat Deshazer in overtime at Wichita and this match looked like it could be something similar-there were some questionable ref calls but overall a great match-
This was one tough weight class with DeShazer, Tanenbaum, Hosey and Seaton being all great wrestlers that probably would have won states at higher weights

You did not mention which call was questionable. However, I think you are talking about the takedown at the end of the period. I don't think it was questionable because if four points hit the mat it's two points. The only thing that may have been questionable about the two points was if the ref awarded the points quick enough. However, it was a great match because both wrestlers styles are different. I do agree that any one of the top three wrestlers could have wrestled and won at a lower or higher weight class. Not to take anything away from the other weight classes because they had STUDS in their brackets too! Deshazer had a tough road to win his bracket. That just may have been one of the toughest brackets pound-for-pound at the whole tournament. 12 and under brackets from 84lbs. through 96lbs. had good wrestlers. I believe that every one of the kids in the finals in those brackets would make some serious noise at a national tourment. In particular the 88lbs., I bet the top 4 finishers could possibly place in the top 4 at a national tournament if they did not nock each other out. What do you think about that. I speak high on those brackets because I coach a wrestler in each one of those brackets.

Except for the 12u 84lbs. bracket. Although, I have coached against those guys, and I know they are exceptional wrestlers as well.

Nick Sells(russell) Had an ot match and won 0-0 after regulatiion.
Chance Pitcock(russell) was losing and won in ot. I don't recall who they wrestled. Great wins on the way to their championships.

10 and under 110. Chandler Rule(hays) over Gavin Grater(c. center) 6-5. Very exciting 3rd period.

10 and under 52. Seaton(B.springs) beat Baldwin(hays) in ot.
10 and under 55. Roberts(doniphan) beat Reed (colby)in ot.?????

Everybody can say this age and weight group is better than this age and weight group. But, I would have to say the top of the age group at 10 and under at all weights are going to have some some great wrestlers in the near future.
