Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion Kids Folkstyle New team in Wichita- Wichita Blue Knights

We want to let everyone know what we have been working on these last few months.
Do to the fact that USD 259 will start charging the kids teams hourly to use their wrestling rooms...we have deciding to build our own wrestling academy.
The Edison's have purchased land at 11201 West 31st Street South. This is between Maize Road and 119th West. We are getting the house ready to move our family in soon and are about the break ground on our state of the art building. We will have two full mats and a weight room along with batting cages. Our whole family and wrestling family have been working every weekend for the past four weeks to get this done by wrestling season. We are on target to open in late November. We will now be called the Wichita Blue Knights. We will have three different levels of teams...novice, ultimate
and elite. We will limit each group to a maximum for 30 wrestlers. We will have
special singlets headgear and practice clothes for each team. We are outfitting the
building with cameras and the ability to record our drills and techniques and play back on the spot. We will eventually be offering martial arts and grappling and weight training and power building and we will be wrestling folk style, freestyle and Greco. We will be expanding our team and our coaching staff. If you think this concept is something that you are interested in please contact Coach Ed at 316-259-5399. We will continue to carry on the tradition of the NW Jr Grizzlies of hard work, high integrity, character building and proper technique with a strong faith base. We will post tryout information at a later date.

Looking forward to our new endeavor but it was a sad day today when Coach Ed emptied out the NWJG stuff from NW HS today!:(

Congrats & happy birthday to the Blue Knights! Sad to see the end of the NWJG & association with NW HS . . . I believe USD 259 will regret this at some point.

The Wichita Blue Knights have filed for incorporation and a 501c3 designation. We had a little bump in the road this week with the concrete but building should be in high gear next week.
Looking to get an informational meeting planned in the next couple of weeks so we can do some WRESTLING!

Building finished! We have sewer and electricity and walls. Mats and wall pads on their way. Coach Ed is putting in heat this week.

We are will our first informational and signup meeting on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 6:30 pm at the new wrestling academy form the Wichita Blue Knights at 11201 West 31st Street South. This is between maize and 119th on 31st by the new Fed Ex.

Ok for alal the peeople out there that said they want to help Coach Ed with the new academy...now is the time. We need help this Saturday. I have a couple of small electrical things, a simple wall to build, someone to stapel up carpet on the wall, we will be moving the chipped asphalt (I love that word) with big machines...not by hand, and assorted other little jobs in ther building. If you can help help for an hour or twelve...cuz thats how Coach Ed rolls...cal me at 990-8914 to get the game plan.
