I keep waiting for another document to be found by archeology that confirms Basketball to be an ancient form of idolatry.
There are many OT references to "Baal" and "ashram poles". I believe part of the ancient worship was "free offerings” that they tossed through a rim tied to the top of the pole.
Naismith was not the first to take part in this idolatry!
