We are trying to make out our tournament schedule for the year and I noticed that Haysville "King of the Ring" tournament is no longer listed on the calender. They show the novice on Sunday but nothing on Saturday. Anybody got any info on this. Also does anybody know if the Park City classic is happening this year? I know Hartman Arena has raised their rates for the facility.

Thanks

I haven't heard anything from Sports Commission yet on Classic.

I heard Haysville and GOddard are the same day. Haven't verified that though........

Team Haysville is very torn with the decision to not host the King of the Ring this Year. We are still having the novice tournament on Jan 15. We made the decision to cancel our open after diligently trying to find another open weekend to not take away from another local club.

We still have the facility available and if we thought it would be as successful as in years past we would love to have it, but being so close to another club we hate to gamble and loose.

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!
Haysville is one of the tournaments that the kids look forward to. I know of about 600 kids that are going to be pissed. I think you should go for it.

I agree with Mark!
I think Team Haysville has worked very hard to grow an excellent tournament.
700 kids
5 states
Excellent Awards
And everyone headed home by 5 or 6...

But the question still remains...
Do you draw away and possibly hurt another big D2 clubs tournament?
That's a great way to upset a lot of people.

I love the idea of a Sunday Open tournament but we have a huge novice group this year that's looking forward to our novice tournament and I think its asking a lot for clubs and coaches to split up on a Sat.
I think the novice would suffer greatly!

Maybe the 'Ville should put a on team dual format on a friday or sunday not as many coaches needed and no else does it at the kids level atleast around here in d2 , I believe with the quality of clubs in Kansas, the right to do alittle bragging the dual could be huge thing for many seasons. They could do it by invite only make it alittle more prestigious.

What if Haysville did a Novice on Saturday and Open on Sunday? I know that weight is a issue but I have been reading and it says something about a weight allowance for back to back tournaments? I again am very new to all this but think this could work. What do you think?

This has the potential to become a growing problem year after year. Clubs are becoming severely limited to use of facilities. Sometimes that limitation is one available date on the school district calendar. The clubs may also be limited to actually being able to use the facility on a Sunday.

Bowen...
I love the team idea too but that usually draws upper class (4th thru 7th grade) kids.

Cheryl...
Whatever you guys decide to do I think everyone is ready for you to make a decission so they can plan to support you all.

Did you see what I posted about possibly doing Novice Saturday and Open Sunday? What are your thoughts?

Do you know if there is the weight allowance on back to back tournaments? I think that will make a huge difference also for some wrestlers!

Open on Sunday is a great idea...
I think novice on Saturday would have a lackluster turnout. Its hard for clubs to split up on Saturday.
As for weight allowances...
Its your tournament, you can do whatever you want!
