Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion College #5 Labette CC vs. #7 Colby CC Thursday night

Labette will stop in for a 6 pm dual in Colby on 12/2/11. The next day both teams will be at the FHSU Open. Both teams are ranked in the top ten in the country.

125 will be an exciting match with #6 Tamayo and #4 Jones hooking it up again. Double OT last match. Jones was an All-American last year and I suspect both will be this year.

I know there will be some other competitive weights....141, 184, 197 and HWT....CCC has ranked wrestlers Campbell #2 at 141, Foss #5 at 184, Steiert #4 at 197, Guerrero #5 at HWT.

Not sure all the guys on either team will make the hard pull down to weight two days in a row or not. I think we'll see a few Cards at lower weight classes this week.

If kids club and high school coaches get a chance take your teams to some college events. They will find out how important position, hand fighting, basic and advanced techniques, conditioning, and just battling for every point.

Any chance anyone will be streaming the dual or any of the tournament on Saturday?

Not sure on the Colby Dual...they did that at least once last year. I bet they have something going on for the FHSU Open.

Boy I hope so. I think it will be January before they have anything I can get to in person. My team opens up at home this weekend at our own invitational and then it gets pretty tough to find a weekend I'm not coaching myself. Go Cards.

smokey...Do you know of any webcast? Colby had at least one webcast last year.

Ike - webcast of Labette duals or Colby Duals?? I do not know.
I would just e-mail the coaches and ask them if they are webcasting any duals this year.

Smokeycabin, I think there is some confusion in this thread. Labette wrestles Colby tonight (12/2) at Colby.

@ Smokey...They wrestle tonight and I was just wondering if Colby was going to webcast. Last year they had some kind of NW Kansas radio network work one of the duals on a webcast. There were some really funny comments in there too! Called one move a "wingdinger roll" or something like that! It was awesome!

Labette wins 27-9. Tamayo beat Jones 7-4. Not sure on other scores but back up's lost at 141 and 149. Basks (141) and Davenport (149) didn't wrestle tonight but will be in tomorrow at the FHSU Open.
