Everyone has been begging for a class in Wichita...now is the time...we will very likely NOT do another class this season. If you do not want to travel and are not bronze certifiied this is your chance. Pass the word to your clubs and coaches. They need to get signed up, if there are not enough to have a class then the Edisons will gladly take back their Sunday in December.

Call 316-990-8914
email edison6@swbell.net
or PM Ms Jenni and get signed up.

Yesterday - I think Randy Hinderliter had 32 guys show up at STA. Some coaches traveled from Russell and Greatbend.

What’s a Responsible Coach? Start with what a Responsible Coach is Not

By Responsible Sports
12/12/2011

You may be wondering what we mean by “Responsible Coach”. It’s easier to start by saying what a Responsible Coach is not, which is soft, a source of empty/unearned praise or satisfied with everyone just having fun.

Responsible Coaching actually is more difficult, challenging and rewarding than coaching with a win-at-all-cost approach. In addition to learning all you can about your sport, honing your "x's and o's," and competing fiercely for wins, you also are committed to:

• Ensuring player safety
• Placing education and character development before wins
• Coaching beyond the "X's and O's"
• Coaching athletes to master their sports
• Filling "Emotional Tanks" to improve performance and instill love of sport
• Living and coaching by a code of Honoring the Game

Coaches and parents are among the greatest influencers of our youth athletes and we have the ability to alter the trajectory and learning’s kids can get out of sports.

Read on to unlock the steps to a Coaching for Mastery Approach

We are still waiting for additional participants for this Sunday's Bronze Clinic. If you have not signed up and want to get your Bronze card in Wichita this season...this is your chance. If we do not have more sign up, we will have to reschedule.

With the Derby Novice Tournament this weekend many coaches are busy. If the clinic was held on February 5th when no local D2 tournaments are happening it might support a higher turnout. I know Goddard would be able to send some coaches for that weekend.

This clinic will be cancelled do to low attendance numbers.

Unfortunately on February 05, 2012 the clinicians will be in Marshall, Missouri attending their sons collegiate wrestling tournament.

If Wichita area coaches wish to become Bronze Certified and attend a local clinic we will reschedule for February 12, 2012.
