This is just a reminder that the entry deadline for the Kansas Tournament of Champions in Salina is tomorrow, January 21st at 6:00 p.m. Registration is being handled through Trackwrestling and you can get to the registration directly at this link.

I have had a couple calls and emails about releasing entries. I will release entries by noon this Sunday on our website www.salinawrestling.com. I have also had some calls and emails about weight allowance at weigh-ins. We will once again be giving the .9 of a pound at weigh-ins this year.

We will not be doing satellite weigh-ins this year. Weigh-ins will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Friday night and 6:30-7:30 a.m. Saturday morning at the Bicentennial Center.

good a tournament of this magnitude does not need satellite weigh ins for obvious reasons.

It shouldn't need .9 pound allowance either. They don't allow this at any nat'l tourney, nor have they (Salina) ever in the past. Am I correct Rich? If so, then why change it this year?

They have (Salina) done this for at least the last 2 years that I know of.

Their deal, and as long as we all know ahead time I am good with it.

tenths of a pound won't break us as a society. Has been that way forever at least they are consistant. Tulsa Kickoff gave the 15 & under division 2 lbs. That is a pretty big national tournament. As the rope man said, if I know ahead of time I am fine with that and this allowance is pretty common knowledge. This is the best non-qualifying tournament in the state of Kansas. I look forward to it every year. Keep up the great work Salina!

We have allowed the .9 of a pound weight allowance at weigh-in for at least the last 12 years of our tournament and I believe a lot longer than that. I know that it has been stated in the flyer, on our website with the tournament information or both for at least the last 6 years.

I thought it has been pretty widely known for quite a while now.

If you want to see your wrestler go from .9 to 5.9, stop off at the Western Sizzlin after Friday night weigh-ins. It is Grazer's Paradise.
