Ark City and Andale will have to prove that out for you this weekend. I think, top to bottom, Colorado is better than us. They do not attend national events well but they are tough at RTOC and all of their own events. It is tough to travel there because the altitude is a killer.

And it is quite obvious that schools starting with an A are dominant in wrestling this year. 3 of the top 10 schools start with A, and the other 25 letters of the alphabet can only muster 7 COMBINED.............

However, the very top end of Missouri is real tough -but, they have rooms that never stop running and run practices all year long. As they told us at Oak Park (Victory) after Fargo, we will run practice as long as kids show up. And, there were no new fees. Until Kansas starts taking it serious like that, we will have trouble with their top end, but we can sure compete with everyone else.

HI wink

And, I have watched Justin Scott (Jeff West) for years - if he is not ranked this year - he will be next.

I would say Colorado is down after watching this weekend. Although Pine Creek was missing three starters (I was told they were top shelf) and none of the teams attending this year are ranked #1 in Colorado. In the past there were multiple wrestlers ranked nationally from Colorado, this year there were none and only one Natinoally ranked wrestler in the tournament, Mascarenas from Cleveland, NM.

One interesting Colorado note: Bear Creek's 170lber was 27-0 and ranked #1 in Colorado. His coach didn't argue for a seed and he ended up going 2-2.

Canyon Randal, TX and Rio Rancho, NM were absent this year and I would say overall, based on the attending the last five years, I would say the competition was not as tough this year and I would say the Bobcat was MUCH tougher top to bottom.

Sounds like your trying to take credit away from the teams and kids that worked hard to make that medal round.

If St James won this tournament it would have been the toughest tournament around and just because a team from out of state didn't win coakley will make some excuse why it wasn't that tuff

Cokeley's post was straight up factual. There was only one nationally ranked kid. One year there was 8. Nasty, were you there last year? Have you been to any of these tournaments? Obviously you weren't thinking before you posted.

It probably is a true statement but you can only wrestle who's there and bringing it up after the fact makes it sound like your making the accomplishment worth less.

In fairness to Will, when it comes to dissing Kansas wrestling, he does it before, during and after the fact!

Well, obviously to me the Bobcat was much much tougher, no disrespect.
145 had 4 state champions, a state runner up, a state bronze and at least 2 placers that I know of, many qualifiers. GC had no champions, ZERO. Newton had none either.
This is just one weight I know, but definitely GC was down and BL was up.
And my post is not designed to take credit away from anybodys medals. It is designed to give proper credit to my son and everyone else who got a medal at Basehor-Linwood, a true accomplishment, no disrespect.
