I am all for different levels of wrestlers,but if you have placed in an A bracket then stay there.I saw plenty of B brackets today that were full of A placers.

Quit trying to get gold the easy way. I would rather have my son work hard and not place than run through a B bracket.


Today we sat all day to wrestle twice. If they would of combined the A and B bracket we could of got plenty more matches. Remember there is novice for the first two years.

I know that a few of the kids in B have wrestled my son in the A brackets this year and placed. Hopefully we don't have a B bracket championship coming.

I know that some kids are A and some are B. but how long will you keeep them at B. It is ok to get a 3rd or 4th.

I don't know what tournament you were at and doesn't matter really. We had the same situation except my son is definitely not an A wrestler and was put in the A instead of B. He too only got to wrestle twice because of so many scratches in his bracket for some reason. He actually did pretty well, but part of that was because of a couple of those kids that didn't show (guessing sick). I think a lot of times it is the parents/team put the wrestler in an "easier" bracket, but from I noticed with the tourney we went to yesterday it was the host team that bracketed wrong.

Same thing if both brackets could have been combined as I am sure they could have if they were made aware first thing that kids couldn't make it after signing up he could have had more matches.

I for one love the B brackets. My son loves to wrestle but isn't very good, these brackets give my son a chance to prove he can wrestle and get a little recognition for his hard work. He gets more wrestling time and doesn't go 2 and done. I also love the tournaments that do round robin brackets for the same reason, Mat time.

Amen to that, there are alot of reasons to put a wrestler in a B bracket, sometimes a kid needs a break, sometimes they need some confidence, sometimes they are B wrestlers, whatever the reason, in the end it washes out doesn't it? At this stage it should be about getting as many matches in as possible while still having fun.
