Congratulations to Louisburg senior Austin Hood on winning his 3rd state championship this weekend! Austin finishes the season at an undefeated 40-0 (and a career record of 150-13).
He won titles for the Wildcats at 112, 119, and 126 after taking 4th at 103 as a freshman. He also came just shy of winning a triple crown in 2010 -- cadet folkstyle and cadet freestyle national champion and cadet greco-roman national runner-up.
Way to go, Austin! You'll represent Kansas well at the next level!

Congrats! Although he is a superb wrestler, Austin's most impressive moment was Friday - after shaking the other coaches hand, his opponent "shoulder bumped" him while passing each other at the edge of the mat. Austin shrugged it off and appeared to take the high road. Yes he did represent well!

After all ballots are turned in for wrestler of the year, I think Hood will be the choice, although Son should deserve recognition also.

The Cokeleys want to congratulate Austin. Our families have put many,many miles under our belts traveling to all of the great tournaments since these boys were in grade school. I am going to miss his of the mat pranks and humor as much as his wrestling! Remember Alice, no matter where you end up we can find some midget strippers! Good luck at the next level!

It is a shame that cokeley had to put his 2 cents in. Austin is a fantastic wrestler but cokeley seems to make peoples stomach turn when he seems to demand that everyone does what he says. that is only my opinion i may be wrong and please mr. coleley dont worry i was defending your rights to free speech long before this forum was invented. you may continue the free speech
