Calling All Wrestlers
If you have any interest to travel abroad to a great wrestling camp this summer, I have an opportunity for you. The wrestling team here at Wichita Independent is traveling to Germany for the second year to participate in a a camp that is run by former Garden City Community College coach Duane Werner. Some of you coaches will remember coach Werner. He is now an administrator for the Department of Defense school system and hosts a camp every summer in Germany. We attended last summer and it was a great experience. He includes many great coaches from other countries such as Poland and Belarus. The Head Coach of the Camp is Ron Higdon formerly of UNO. Ron is now the head of the Nebraska State Wrestling Association and Athletics Association. The camp is June 17-22 and the cost is only $250 for room and board. The big expense is the travel.
