Hey Dal, can we get an updated breakdown by grade? Also, can you explain a little bit how this operates? Thanks!

My son had an amazing time when he went. The only thing some people need to remember is you could have a 3rd grader wrestling a 6th grader. Also there is a difference in expressing interest and saying you will go. Every year they get teams together and at last minute they are trying to fill a spot. If you say your going please do. Backing out at the last minute only hurts THE TEAM!
The numbers look amazing this year and the names are impressive too!

I don't think this tournament breaks down by grades. I think you just have a dual team and the members of that team just have to be in elementary school. For example on the same team, your lighter couple of weights may be 3th or 4th graders. Your heavier weights are probably 5th or 6th graders. Doesn't matter what grade, as long as the entire team is just elementary school.

You guys are correct - age has nothing to do with this event other than you must be in elementary school.

We are getting close to having enough wrestlers for 4 full teams.
It looks like we are short at 95,112,130 and 160.

We will have a coaches meeting sometime the week after the State tournament to get started with the selection process. I will post the date and time later. We will meet at my office in Wichita - 9915 W 21st n Suite A - all are welcome.

We may need to do some calling and recruiting if we don't have the teams full.

Please bear with us thru this process as there may be some changes due to scheduling, injury etc. before the teams are finalized.

Coaches, we will have our first selection meeting Wednesday March 28th at 6:30 pm at my office in Wichita - 9915 W 21st N Suite A.

It looks like we may need to do a little recruiting to fill the remaining open slots so it may take more than one meeting to finalize the teams.

There is still time to sign up for any interested wrestler. I know there are several who are waiting until after the state tournament to make a decision.

Parents, don't forget to reserve your room if you want to stay at the same hotel as the team.

There is a block of rooms reserved under Kansas Wrestling. They are held for us until April 1st - I hope to have the teams finalized before then so everyone knows what's going on. To be safe, I'd reserve a room - you can cancel up until the day before check in

Once the teams are selected, I will need to know if any wrestler will be staying with their parents. I will also need to know what wrestlers will NOT be riding in the vans with the team from Topeka.
