BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The No. 4 ranked Baker University wrestling team hosted the Dan Harris Open on Sunday, Nov. 4 at the Collins Center and three Wildcats won individual championships including Joel Olivas (141 pounds), Robert Shadrach (197 pounds) and Brandon Gebhardt (285 pounds).

Olivas was named the Outstanding Wrestler of the Tournament for his efforts. Other Wildcats that performed well were, Kevin Magdael who took fourth in the 125-pound weight class and Bo Pursel who finished runner-up in the 133-pound class.

Bryce Hood finished just behind Olivas in the 141-pound category with a fourth-place finish and Nick Haugen took third in the 149-pound division.

157-pound wrestler Connor Middleton took home third-place and teammates Nathan Sommer and Nick McLean placed in the 165-pound weight class with a second and fourth-place finish respectively.

In the 174-pound weight class, Jakob Price placed with a third-place finish and John Hambleton finished just behind him in fourth.

Parker Owen advanced to the finals in the 184-pound class and came in third-place. Baker will next travel to Lindsborg, Kan., this Saturday, Nov. 10 for the Swede Open hosted by Bethany College.

Lot of deserving candidates for OW. Surprised 33 and 74 didn't finish ahead of 141.

133 champ with 3 falls and a major!?! That's STUD Material, and not slouches either for opponents!

An Unseeded 174 looked like a prime candidate as well with 4 wins by an 18-3 margin including a shut out of the #1 and #2 seeds and defeating the #3 seed as well!
