We wondered the same thing as ours is the 182lb #4 321A wrestler. Coach told us seeding was based off last year's tournament finish and any State placing. Luke didn't wrestle at this tournament last year as it was added to our wrestling schedule late, and he had all ready committed to another school activity. And even though he is a 2-time State qualifier and fully expected to place last year, he underwent an emergency appendectomy the Tuesday of State and didn't compete. While it was disappointing that he went unseeded this weekend, we were MORE disappointed by the fact that he was not wrestling 100% due to what we now suspect is the flu. After a 1st round bye, he lost 3-2 to the #2 6A guy and managed to win the next match after 10PM last night before finally throwing in the towel and heading home without finishing the tournament. Having said all that, he'll be at next year's Newton TOC (hopefully 100% healthy) and will hopefully meet some of the criteria needed for seeding.
