Guys that don't know about Jared Johnson's headlock are dead men walking.

There is a lot of truth to that. One match in particular drove me crazy.

I am going to write a summary of the matches in just a moment on our website. It is hard to summarize this match like it is always hard to do after the metro classic. What a magnificent sporting event that is. Win lose or draw it is just a great event to watch and to be involved with. All of these kids, all 28 of them just worked their butts off and gave everything they had to this match. We made some scholarship money and no one could have possibly walked away disappointed in what they saw tonight. Do I wish we would have won, sure I do. Do I have any regrets over anyones perfomance, not a chance in the world. In all of my life, the very best people I have known have been competitors and brother, tonight these guys competed. I am proud of each and every one of them and thank them for their marvelous efforts. Now, on to next year and we will do it all over again. Thanks to the kids on both sides for a magnificent effort. It was great getting to know all of them.

Great dual, as always. This event always draws a large & rowdy crowd, it is a lot of fun. Great matches & efforts by the wrestlers competing. And thank you to all of those organizing the event every year, lot of people and lot of work goes into it.

A lot of money is raised for a great cause. And this event showcases some awesome young men in our area involved in wrestling.

Already can't wait until next year.

We have posted Mark Lundy's pictures of the metro classic on the website http://kcmetroclassic.com/. Mark is a professional photographer and he graciously took some of the best wrestling pics for us that I have seen. They are available for viewing on our site.

Also I dumped 285 bulk pics into our facebook site that were taken at matside form last nights meet. There is also a tab for that on the http://kcmetroclassic.com/ site. Feel free to take whatever you want.

It was a FANtastic dual! Of course, one team point here ... one team point there, would have made the difference! Very few wrestlers truly grasp the need to maximize point taken and minimize points given, although Coach Harris did emphasize it the entire week of practice!

The 2013 Metro absolutely points out why I think this event is the highlight of the year!!

Are you making a POSITIVE difference in the life of kids?
