The Junior Olympic Wrestling Committee is responsible for setting the rules for competition at the Junior division and younger. The JOWC voted this evening to adopt the new rules effective immediately for all national events. The regionals are given the option of adopting the rules. I will be working with the other states in our region to determine whether we will follow the new rules; but since we will be using these rules at the Duals and at Utah & Fargo, I will be recommending that we use the new rules at Dodge City.
There are a few clarifications that Rick Tucci will be sending out in the next couple of days, including the following:
Freestyle- A 5 point throw will not end the match
- Push outs will be called the same as currently, except where continuous action on a scoring move takes the scoring wrestler over the line.
Greco- All guts will be two points (even without a bridge)
