Jared Johnson has withdrawn from this phase of the tourney.
Jared Johnson and his family have been stalwarts of Team Kansas for a decade! He wrestled for a 3A High School and represented everyone very well!
I will never forget when on Mat 1 he was matched up with an undefeated wrestler from Oregon. The Oregonian was physically intimidating and was much heralded. Jared went out and beat him, 8-0! The elation displayed by Jared is ... what competing is all about! It was a moment of accomplishment and of pure joy!
That moment will be what I remember ... Jared representing Team Kansas at a very high level!!

Big win by Emilio ... he used a few 3-point plants, a couple of holds ... and then got the pin!! The foe from Indiana was undefeated and the guy from Wyoming who earlier beat Emilio, just got beat!!

This was a tough day for Team Kansas. We have three wrestlers still active at this point. Emilio Fowler is down to the final four in his Cadet 195 bracket and is guaranteed All-American status. Juniors Andrew Millsap (152) and Nathan Butler will advance to tomorrow's sessions; Butler with an undefeated record and Millsap with a single loss.
