At the Bobcat they gave it to Daniel Lewis as he is the FIRST 4x Bobcat champion. I agree with it based on that accomplishment but Corbin Nirschl or Taegen Lambotte deserved it for this weekend's action. Should have been co OW's. Two tournaments we attended this year gave out a lower weight OW and an upper weight OW. I like that. I still think the OW process needs to be overhauled. Coach vote is NOT the way to go. 1. It has to be a champion. 2. The vote shouldn't come until the last match has been wrestled. 3. It should be an impartial committee anonymous to everyone who evaluates the wrestlers. This committee should be furnished with the tournament stats on each wrestler prior to the championship matches being wrestled. Then you would get a more objective choice. There is no perfect way but when coaches vote before the finals have even been wrestled that is NOT good.
