I have nothing to do with the rankings, but I do know that they have a formula based on number of kids ranked to get the team rankings. I'm not sure what the formula is for sure, but they give a certain number of points for the place each guy is ranked and that hypothetical "team score" leads to the team ranking.
Scott City's ranking would be a result of having 2 guys ranked #1. Goodland dropping would be a result of their 195 falling out of the rankings.
I do not know if they give some points for kids they think could qualify and win a match or two. That could certainly make a difference in the team score.
I would agree that Goodland has some unranked guys who deserve heavy consideration. I will also be willing to bet they finish higher than 9th, but we will know for sure in less than a month.
