Just curious on everybody's thought about bringing back grand state. Could be one of the most epic tournaments of the year.

Oh boy here we go again

From what I understand, a serious effort was made last year to do a grand state but there was a major lack of interest from all around the state (couldn't get enough to commit to it). I think this is dead once and for all unless KSHSAA were to step in, and I don't see them doing that.

5A has two potential Grand State like match ups:

126 and 285

These are the ONLY two brackets that offer ALL CLASS #1 vs #2 match ups out of the four state tournaments.

I agree with the 126# class. The 285# class should be Scott and Toelkes. That is realistic. There was more to the Scott loss last weekend than meets the eye.
