A few stats- There were 17 teams represented in the Central Region. The MIAA Schools had 9 of 10 Champions. 125 was the only weight class that wasn't taken by someone from the MIAA Conference. 5 of 10 weight classes had 2 MIAA competitors in the finals.(141,149,165, 174, 184, & 285)
Also 7 returning All Americans were left at home. 133- Andy Pokorny (SCSU), 141- Matt Nelson (SCSU), 149 Ryan Maus (Truman State), 149- Trevor Johnson (Mary), 157- Chase White (Kearney), 174- Blake Sorenson (Upper Iowa)& 285- Corey Dauphin (UCO)
Lets not forget that super star Destin McCauley failed to quilify as well..
Point being- MIAA is LOADED, and so was the Central Region in DII. It was prett much a mini Nationals.
