Just so there is no confusion, D1 will be holding its qualifiers as it has in the past with two subs (north and south) and a district tournament. This is inclusive of 8u-HS divisions.

Here is where the confusion is, I thought the Districts had to follow the same game plan. So some of the Districts are following one set of rules, while others are following a seperate set. Looking pretty shady.

Ok I need some clarification is any district wrestling sub? My understanding with this is D1 and D4 are other two are not is this correct. If the by laws allow this as some have stated may we need to check the by laws. Maybe if we check we can have homesite weigh in for subs, district and state. Now that would save some money! So if districts can make the high school decision on their own can we make the weigh decision on our own. Seems a few years back everyone was up in arms about the fact one district got to see there brackets earlier than the other and the weigh in times were different. I am sure it was stated more than once they all had to do the same thing so there was no unfair advantage. So what happened to this?

From the post at the top of this thread:

In addition to D1, D4 will be doing it the same as well. D2 & D3 have elected to not hold a Sub district tournament as a qualifier for district.

so our subs can allow 3 pounds and set our own weigh in times and do what ever else we want since all districts are not doing all the same

No weight allowance is to be allowed at any district qualifying tournament.

Weigh-in times have not always been the same in all four districts.

All districts have not been the same for many years. District II has split session tournaments while other Districts may or may not. In the interest of brevity I will not continue to provide differences between District Tournaments

What I will say is if you have a real concern than get a name!

In District 3 HS subs is considered an open tournament and not a qualifier, by rights they can determine a weight allowance.

Speaking of moving up weight brackets. How does one have a kid not grow/gain weight or they may even shrink during wrestling season. I mean the season is long and yet most kids are wrestling the same weight (or lower) than they started the year out at.

My kid on the other hand has steadily grown all year and has moved up a few brackets already.
