Coaches and Parents,

If your wrestler is 14 and placed at Tulsa Nationals as a 6 year old, do not put him down as a National placer.

If your wrestler is 14 and won State at 46 lbs. 8 years ago, do not put him down as a State Champion.

If your child won Gunsmoke Nationals, Brute Nationals, Pixieland Nationals, Beginners Nationals, or any other tournament that is not a legitimate Nationals tournament, do not put him down as a National Champion.

I have stated on this site before, "Once a State Champion, always a State Champion. They can not take it away from you." That is true for bragging rights ONLY. You can't use it for Rankings 8 years later.

When it asks for a ranking, use what the wrestler did the year before. You only as good as your last year of wrestling. If you want to continue to use State Champion as a ranking, WIN STATE this year.

But nothing in the by-laws prevents dad from still wearing the T-shirt?

Is ranking a part of the sometimes enforced (for some districts) "By-Laws"? If not, it should be. Ranking should be better understood by everybody involved!

I tried to rate my kid 3X novice state champion but didn't see that option.

And then there's the coaches that at the sub seeding meetings has "a pretty good kid" at every weight and his buddy's running the meeting and knowingly puts him above another kid who is obviously better putting best kids on same side. I guess maybe integrity is very shallow these days.

Since there is only one entry per weight class the Hug will come from your coach as you come off of the mat after paying your $35 for your National Championship.

Here is a list of National Tournaments to Qualify for National Ranking In my opinion:
Tulsa Nationals
Tulsa Kickoff
Folkstyle Nationals
Super 32
Pre-Season Nationals
Rocky Mountain Nationals wink (for you Beeson)

potentially Liberty, Reno
