To the Emporia Tournament Committee ... CONGRATULATIONS on a job well done. Even though we drove through near blizzard conditions at "dark o'clock" in the morning, it was well worth it. Being a wrestling enthusiast, I have traveled to many tournaments these past 5 years and have had numerous experiences both good and bad. Your event was a class act. I had the pleasure of working a table with some of the Emporia club parents. It's always great to meet parents who share the love of the sport with their children. Thank you for making me as well as our club feel so welcomed. We look forward to next year!

I must agree. I braved a three hour drive even though im only 70 miles away just to referee at this tournament and I had a great time. The ladies at the table I worked most of the day were excellent. I hope to make it back next year.

I am sorry to say we did not make the tournament. Got up at 4:00 decided not to risk it and just stayed at home. Sounds like we missed a great tournament. Does anyone have the results of the 12U 165 and 190 division? Thanks.

Thanks for the information on the 12U 165, did they combine weight or was there another bracket above it?

I also want to echo the positive posts by others about the Emporia Tournament. It was a very wise decision to just "start anyway" with out trying to re-do the brackets. There was a lot of good wrestling there, and the table workers, refs, coaches and parents seemed to work together to make things run smooth. I wish every tournament had that spirit of cooperation. Maybe the snow made some of the gripers and moaners stay home! And I do know that there were some excellent wrestlers that couldn't make it, but Emporia's club did the very best imaginable with what they had!

Our club will never miss the Emporia tournament because they always do so great at putting one on! It is also wonderful to get both groups novice and open together and still go so smoothly!

I e-mail the Emporia Kids Club today and found out that the results will not be posted. They said the brackets were such a mess because of all the scratches that the only correct ones were the ones at the tables and the champ took that home to fill in their 1st place bracket.
If anyone has the 12U 190 bracket winners, I would appreciate the information.
