The fact that girls are forced to wrestle at state in the middle of the week is laughably sexist.

Completely overlooked Speer from Doniphan County. I think he may have beaten Ward this year?? He should be wrestling 195 or Bears. Pratt should be wrestling Diblasi. Last year it posted that there was a one weight class move limit. Pratt is a small 170 and he is matched up against Staley's 195?

Bears certified for 170, walks around at 183 soak and wet but wrestled 195 for team points.

Ward's 2 losses were to Kelly-Seaman & Langley-Newton.

I was bummed to see Brandon Dofat from Spring Hill missing from the list. Hopefully some college coaches took note this season, that kid has a high ceiling!

So much for the theory that we have a 7 lb weight allowance to allow the kids to not have to cut weight for this event.

Why weigh in at all?

back in the day,
I was told he didn't make weight, so maybe I shouldn't have posted that comment and just marked him as DNP. I'm sure if my information is incorrect, I'll hear about it soon enough.

Not sure what happened to him at state this year, but he's gotten 1st, 2nd & 3rd at state in HS, and was the a prohibitive favorite to win this year. Not sure how he's gonna make "126" if he has weight issues, but...

He had a skin condition at state, not a weight issue

Why is the weight class 138 when you have a 152lb state champ vs a 145lb bronze medalist?

There is a complete lack of process for identifying the Kansas coaches and the rules are bent willy nilly to create any kind of a match up with no focus placed on the most intriguing match ups that the crowed would like to see. I thought the idea was to showcase the best coaches based on recent state performance and the best senior athletes in their weight class? I want to be nice because I have always loved this event but the best KS metro wrestler isn't even wrestling and not due to injury. When was the last time that happened? The whole thing is starting to remind me of the seeding at the Bobcat...

MO 28-19

Burkhart has never had a problem making weight, at the State Tournament he was DQ'd because of skin condition not because he didn't make weight
