Musselman is a basketball guy. He was the lame duck head coach of the Beloit Basketball team that played a distant second fiddle to the 6x State Champion Beloit wrestling team.
The idea might fly if you were to call a wrestler the 4A Classification champ and then only the State Champion would emerge from the final weekend event. You wouldn't have to extend the season, as you could just reduce the regular season by one week and eliminate the stupid dead week in the middle. Why wrestling?? Because it is the only sport that has a fan base that really cares who the best is and because the size of your school has nothing to do with how great you are as an individual competitor.
