Just wondering if the Wrestling Landscape will change any after Count Day. What powerhouse school will move into 5A this year?

I have a bunch of random predictions.

Shawnee Mission South to 5a from 6a

OP Blue Valley West to 6a from 5a

Burligton, Haven, and Holcomb from 4a to 3a

Hesston, Sabetha, and Rock Creek from 3a to 4a

Colby's enrollment is less than Holcomb's so if Holcomb is 3A……

Rumor out west is that the entire GWAC will be 4A. That's Colby, Goodland, Hugoton, Holcomb, Scott City, and Ulysses.

Suspiciously sounds like a scheme to guarantee a site selected for Regionals on or West of HWY 83...

Yep! We want everyone to come back to the west where we plan to host a regional on one mat in a barn! Actually, the biggest barn in Kansas is in Colby, so if we host, we might be able to get 2 mats down!

RJW1, I heard that Colby could be in Class 3A next year. Is that true?

We have a chance of being 3A for the rest of this year and that would be it! We actually had several new student enroll in the last 10 days or so or we would have been 3 A for the rest of this year for sure. As it stands now, we are right on the bubble!! We will be 4A in the football count and in the future, but have a tiny senior class.

So with this out now, will they likely replace Maize with Wichita North or with Derby in the Western 6A Regional?

What was the Baldwin regional last year just lost 3 teams to reclassification (2) to 3a and (1) to 5a. Be interesting to see the shuffle to the KC area for 4a. 3 teams new to 4a are around the Wichita area, so the 4a regional jumble could be fun. Maybe 3 teams like PV, Spring Hill and Louisburg to the NW, from what I would have considered the SE regional. Maybe Winfield and El Dorado to the SE with Burlighton? Haven, Kingman (do they have wrestling...if not they need to being 4a), Collegiate filling in to the regional departed by El Dorado/Burlington.
