Always cracks me up when a Dad says "we" as if they actually step on the mat next to their son/daughter on the mat. LOL

Well said, Keith!!! Some live through their kids, instead of living for the moment.

I am guilty of that til about 2 years ago. Now I just enjoy the moment. Let everything else sort itself out. Alex had 4 practices and faced the 2 ranked kid in 3a and lost. First time he's lost in his first tourney all high school. Dust off get ready for the next match. A lot more fun as a fan.

Agree Patrick. More fun to watch, win or lose. Than worry about Rankings.

I don't think Chad Beeson lives through Jake! Chad had his time in the spotlight, and was a hell of a wrestler. He just wants to see great wrestling (like all of us do). You compete to see how good you are, not beat up on the "tuba" player.

It sure feels like "we" when we're attending camps and tournaments all season....

"We" chose to participate in this sport and we set goals based on my ability to finance it and my son's ability to wrestle. I balance his wrestling schedule with my job and my hobbies so everything that happens in the sport is happening to "us".

I'm just a random fan of wrestling, but I can appreciate a guy that ain't afraid to speak his mind. Mr. Beeson I appreciate you having the guts to say what you believe needs said. Everyone that's worked to improve anything in this world has met resistance. This particular subject means nothing to me b/c my son isn't in HS yet, but I hate seeing anyone's opinions silenced. Please continue to address the problems, as you see them, that others are unwilling to address publicly.

Competition is necessary if you ever plan on achieving high goals, (goals beyond high school). So to the ones who may be dodging (Coach or wrestler) here's some great advice..., wrestle as many tough opponents as you can while you can. Win or lose, if you have any desire to compete after high school, it will only prepare you. If you do not plan on wrestling after high school then do what you feel is best to help you accomplish your goals. But I do agree with Beeson, everything I did on the mat my dad had a huge part in, and I was glad to hear him say we, when we won or lost. And lastly, as a huge fan of the sport, I think Beeson had another great point talking about cross classifications and state boundaries. Some of the best matches never happen because of these things, so as a fan I see it as unfair when 2 great wrestlers are supposed to meet up (and the typically won't meet at state) and one doesn't wrestle! But.. I'm just a fan I suppose.... Beeson, your son is lucky to have you share in his accomplishments and set backs, keep being in his corner! To the rest of you.. Good Day.
