This tourney is in Edmond, OK. THis Saturday.

Oklahoma rules have apparently changed, and to host a satellite weigh in, you have to have at least 25 kids weigh in at your site. Brawlers will host a satellite weigh in at Andale, if we can get to 25 kids. I need to know by tomorrow morning. Sign up deadline is Wednesday night on trackwrestling.

So if you are going to Edmond this saturday, please post here if you plan on doing so, and if you will attend our satellite weigh in on Friday evening. We will probably do it from 6-7 pm if we get enough kids. Other wise, we'll just leave early Saturday morning and weigh in down there.

Brawlers are taking approx 10 kids.

Thanks
Doug

Hi Doug. The Kansas Young Guns will send 4-5 wrestlers for a weigh in. We may have more, but that is all I have at this time.

Thanks,
Shana

We can't promise them 25 kids to weigh in, so we can't do the satellite weigh in. We are driving down early Saturday to weigh in there.

Thanks

There are a lot of growing pains with Oklahoma youth wrestling this season, as we have run into the same problem in Texas.

I think with OK switching to a USA card state, they are walking their way thru the rules, plus I had heard they had some problems with satellite weigh ins, so they put in some rules to eliminate people fudging on weight. I've seen some of those OK kids come up here to wrestle after a satellite weigh in over the years, and it makes you wonder.........

It doesn't bother me, we'll keep going to their tourney, because there is always good competition. They switched to Trackwrestling also, so things ran really smooth this year. Good people at Edmond Generals/OWA.....

They did switch to USA WRESTLING, good for them, and they have to protect their tournaments just like KANSAS should protect their tournaments with satellite weigh ins. These are great for the honest, but like you said Doug, "It makes you wonder". There should be a 3 lb "or whatever" weight check for those in question during the tournament if mentioned in the tournament flyer. This, I would think could be done by the tournament director.

No, what we need, but will never happen, is for kids to step on the scale prior to wrestling their match, and if they don't make weight, they don't wrestle.

Exactly, weigh them in and make the brackets accordingly!
