I knew that 160 in 321A was deep but man this weekend sure proved it to me.

Outside the top ranked 6

Suchy
Waggoner
Sherman
Overton
Urban
Erickson
Coomes

Are all capable (IMO) of winning big time matches. If they all don't beat each other out in regionals that will be one heck of a State bracket!

Allen was up 9-0 after the first period. Jenkins caught him in a cradle in the second for a pin. Sounded like a good match.

I think Tanner Asper from Chaparral High School at 126 should be ranked above Dalton Goans Tanner pinned him at hesston this year

It's OK...sometimes it's better to be the hunter than the hunted anyway.
The season will sort it out.

Jenkins was the one who got caught, fought off his back. Overcame adversity and overpowered his opponent to win.
Should have been there.

Goans has a (18-2) record with a loss to Asper that I'm assuming was via headlock. Goans has quality wins over #6 Steele of Council Grove, Johnson of Marion, and Cassity of Hoisington. Goans is a 3X qualifier. I'm not sure about his other loss, it could have been to Steele in a dual.

Asper has a (25-7) record. Asper has a quality win over Goans and has split matches with Cassity. He has 5 losses to wrestlers in other classifications or other states, so those are hard to compare. However, Asper lost to Normandin from Plainville. Normandin is further down in the rankings at (18-11) with multiple losses to 321A unranked opponents.

In the end Goans has no "bad" losses, he has more quality wins, and he has past state experience.

Goans deserves the ranking. He has proven himself each year. Multiple time state qualifier with wins at state. Both of his losses this year were within two days of each other. He lost to Steel in a match that Steele was up 12-2 before pinning him. He got a decision over Steele two weeks ago in a close match.

Tough weight class this year!

when tanner went up against Goans. Goans tried a headlock got it but asper got out of it and pinned him in the first period with a spladel. Goans beat Johnson and Cassity with a headlock just saying that headlock is not always going to be there

Wyatt, Rudy Rodriguez, freshman at Southeast of Saline, defeated Chase Prester of Russell in the NCAA Tournament yesterday. It was a very good match with Rudy winning by takedown in OT period 1. Rudy is now 22-4 and is, I believe, worthy of consideration in your rankings. Thank you for your efforts in this area.

Yeah, I noticed that last night when I was looking at TrackWrestling. Rodriguez will be in the rankings, but I'll probably have to keep him back at #6. He has early season losses to some common opponents of other wrestlers and a loss to current #5 Schoenthaler.

That is an impressive win for freshman heading towards the most important part of the season.

Yes, he has really matured as a wrestler this season. He has been fun to watch grow in confidence as the season has progressed.

The final 321A rankings are up a day early.

Remember these are rankings. These are not predictions of how I think the state tournament will play out based on bracketing.

I share my predictions later in the week.
