The Hays Wrestling Club will be hosting its annual Western Kansas Classic Wrestling tournament on March 5, 2016 this year. This tournament will be wrestled once again at Gross Memorial Coliseum on the campus of Fort Hays State University. We will be bracketing according to wrestlers rankings. (A, B, C, D) we will not have a separate tournament for Novice but will bracket beginners with other wrestlers of the same caliber if numbers in that age and weight allow. The same awards will be given to all top 4 placers in each Bracket. This is a unique chance for some beginner wrestlers to earn a nice plaque and wrestle in the same tournament the advanced wrestlers. We will be looking for satellite weigh in sights again this year for Friday only weigh ins. The Hays club does a great job running the tournament. Also it is in a nice facility for the spectators. And as always great competition.

We have had some interest in hosting satellite weigh in sites from different areas of the state. We would welcome a few more sites, please email us at hayswrestlingclub@yahoo.com if you are interested in hosting a satellite weigh in site. We will post the confirmed sites later this week.

Due to multiple satellite weigh in sites, and not all scales being exactly the same. We will be allowing .9. Example if your wrestler is wrestling 55lbs they can weigh up to 55.9.
Just a reminder that the following week after our tournament is the start of qualifiers and wrestlers are required to make scratch weight at qualifiers.

We have decided to extend our deadline for registration till tomorrow Wednesday March 2nd at 5:00PM. Hopefully this will give a few highschool wrestlers a chance to decide if they want to extend their season.
Registration will be open for all wrestlers to enter up until 5:00PM Wednesday March 2nd.
