On Wednesday after regionals. Timmy Nesbitt, a Silver Lake Freshman Varsity wrestler who competed at regionals, had a horrific car accident. The accident put him in the hospital with almost no chance of survival. At the 3-2-1A state meet, everybody in attendance were praying for a miracle before the meet. Almost every wrestler gathered in the middle of the mat to pray for a miracle in the name of Wrestlers for Christ and Tim. Last night the family had their hopes up, that a miracle might be happening as Tim's body responded to a reflex in his foot. The first response since the accident.
A couple of hours ago, we received word that Timmy has passed.
This young man was just learning how to wrestle, was a wonderful person. He prepared 9 months for this season. We all understand exactly what kind of young man shows that kind of dedication!! A very rare person. He will be missed and remembered as an outstanding young man!
Please take a minute to pray for Tim, his family, his classmates, his teammates, and all of those that were touched by Tim.
Wrestling is soooooooo far secondary at moments like this! But there is not a better family in the world than the wrestling family. We want to thank you all for your prayers.
I am so impressed with the Silver Lake High School coaching staff, wrestlers and administration who helped these young men at the state tournament deal with such a tragic event. It is amazing to me how these young men came together and did so well!
I thank you all so very much, I know what a difference the wrestling community makes in so many peoples lives!
I want to thank Timmy Nesbitt for his dedication, hard work, and his outstanding character! I am so very blessed to have known you and worked with you. God bless you my friend!
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
