Alan and I wanted to take a moment as high school graduation is nearing and Alan is getting ready to take the next step into college wrestling. We wanted to take a moment to thank all the wrestling family out there that has been a part of Alan’s wrestling career and has helped him make it to the next level. Alan will be attending Appalachian State in North Carolina to attend school and wrestle and if not for a lot a people across the state – this would not have happened. Al wrestled at a lot of different clubs throughout his kid’s club career – and there were lots of coaches, families, and kids who welcomed him in their rooms and also coached him at so many different tournaments because he didn’t have a full time club or coach for a lot of years. If not for the generosity of those many different people – I am not sure if we have ended up where we are at – so we just want to say thanks – in no particular order – to all those that coached and advised over the years – we tried to think of everyone – but if we missed someone – we apologize up front!
Randy Streeter – Sunflower Kids Wrestling who started him at 7 and he still represents, Nikki Wright, Baldwin Wrestling Club who adopted him at 8 – Kelly Hockey, Kim Lisher, Melinda and Dennis Shoemaker, East Kansas Wrestling – Eric Aiken and Travis Phippen, Kaw Valley – Darrin Denning and Rick Bellinger, Purler Wrestling Academy – Tony Purler, Patrick Cavenaugh, Terry Moon, Tyler Gonzalez, Charlie Knox, Brett Fiene, Josh Hanson, and Andrew Morgan. A couple of special thank you’s to Bronson Star – always there, Curt Rylant who we had some great road trips with and introduced us to Mike and Jamie Atkins and Kansas Young Guns – who just adopted him and provided great practice rooms and great support. Then a big thank you to Pat Naughton who has been tireless in his support of Alan through high school and Gus Andrews who just has always brought out the best in Al. I know there are many, many more and the friendships and support over the years has been great! A final thank you to Al’s best partners – Tristan Star, Ryan Bellinger, Cory Atkins, Thomas Lisher, Andrew Denning and the one walks out on the mat with him in his heart when he wrestles Reece Wright-Conklin. Thank you all – it has been journey – to be continued…………

Momma, makes my heart warm. Good luck big Al at the next level. Little Al will be following. This family is awesome.

RLC-check your PMs!

The fact that girls are forced to wrestle at state in the middle of the week is laughably sexist.
