Glendale will be hosting a takedown tournament on June 25th at 9:00am. The cost is only $5. We have six youth clubs so far that are planning on bringing youth wrestlers. Our hope is to have quite a few athletes show up. The plan is to group wrestlers by weight and relative ages in pools of five. We are going to open this up to grades K-12. Depending on the number of participants, we will be using two to three mats. The periods will be two minutes long. The scoring system will be two pints for a takedown and one point for a push-out. If a wrestler has a seven point lead, we will stop it and call it a tech fall.
We will be selling drinks and snacks as well. The tournament will take place in Glendale's main gym.
