Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion Kids Folkstyle Refs not showing

Not sure what is correct but how do you handle a referee not showing for your tournament if he is your head ref. No call no show, I feel I should warn others but not sure if it ok on here. Either way, what a piece of crap! Can I list his name in warning?

Have you discussed it with the ref in question?

I would just confirm that there was not a "real" reason he missed before going that route. Hard to believe this day and age a text, call or email couldn't be sent but you never know what's going on.

Do you have signed contracts for officials at kids tournaments? As a high school AD, we have contracts for all contest for our officials. If they don't show, they are responsible for the damages stated on the contract. Typically the same amount they would have been paid to be there.

He won't answer his phn and no I don't do contracts. They are pretty worthless. Not gona sue a ref for damages.

Given that he doesn't answer his phone I would be real careful about posting anything here 1st. Hopefully nothing tragic happened but I bet you would feel pretty bad if that was the reason.

If you find out later he was out all night drinking it up or some other dumb reason post away!!

Put this guys name out there so I don't ever get stuck Reffing with him!! No call no show refs put the tournament and other referees in a huge bind.

How many of these officials where certified? If they are certified and don't have a valid reason they should get some kinda of suspension.

Maybe contracts need to start being used for all tournaments
