New Purler Wrestling Location

When: Begins Jan 24th; 6:15-8:30pm

We hope to run year round, on a month to month basis.

Where: Fort Hays State Univ wrestling room

Time: 6:15-8:30

Coaching: Ryne Cokeley, 4 time KS state champ; former member of purler wrestling since the age of 9, and current Fort Hays wrestler. Ryne knows my (Tony Purler's) teaching methods and techniques, and does a great job of managing the room and ensuring a productive, repetition filled, session for all the serious wrestlers who choose to attend.

NOTE: ALL wrestlers are welcome to attend the first two practices on Jan 24th and 31stfor a trial to see how the room is ran and to see whether they feel this program will help in their technical development. I like to say that PWA is about 'technique training' as opposed to running at conditioning based, brutal practice. Skill development seems to be lost in our sport in my opinion, but with my program this trumps how hard the practice is.

Tuition: fee is 85.00 a month.

Registration: Registration is online. www.tonypurler.com, just click purler wrestling academy, online registration, and follow through till completion. Payments are done online, and recur each month on the same date as your registration. Should you wish to take time off, you can cancel your account by logging into your paypal account at any time.

This is Awesome and will get the kids more mat time. I've noticed that Purler kids seem to do quite well at state and national tournaments. We have also been to several Purler camps and every one of them is Very Good.

I went to register and pay for the academy and there wasn't an option for the Hays location.

The website says every Wednesday night and this thread says Tuesday nights. I'm not sure that the FHSU wrestling room is open on Tuesday nights? Hopefully, it stays on Tuesday night at a different Hays location.

PRACTICE HAS NOW BEEN MOVED TO WEDNESDAY. FHSU has a self defense class on Tuesday nights that I was not aware of when I made the original post. Practice this Wednesday will be a free trial practice for everyone.

I'm surprised more families are not taking advantage of this opportunity. Families drive there kids over 3 hours one way for Purler Wrestling Academy in other locations. Hopefully, more Western Kansas kids attend the Hays location so we can keep it for the foreseeable future. The instruction is top notch and it will make a kid a much better wrestler. I've seen it first hand with my own kid who has attended Purler camps in the past.

There is still plenty of room at the new Purler location. We are still having practice on Wednesdays but we are currently working on moving over to Tuesday nights.

I was hoping they would continue to work folkstyle for a couple more weeks. Due to Nationals and national duals in the weeks ahead. What will be worked at practice folkstyle or freestyle/Greco in the next few weeks? Please let me know which one they will be working. We may not attend if it freestyle/greco.
Thanks
