Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion Kids Folkstyle ONW Open/Novice Tournament...January 20th, 2018

The 8th Annual Olathe Northwest Open/Novice Kids Tournament will be on our usual weekend, Saturday January 20th, 2018. It will be posted shortly on the tournament event list on USAWKS.org. It will be available on Track shortly after Christmas. The info is as follows:

Entry Information:
• Open tournament (6u, 8u, 10u, 12u, & 14u). Plus additional Novice (round-robin) brackets for 8u & 10u ONLY.
• Girls Division – Dependent on entries
• First 550 registrants accepted
• $16 non-refundable registration fee per wrestler.
ONW Wrestling Booster Club will donate $1 of each entry to the Kansas College Wrestling Fund
• Pre-register at TrackWrestling — www.trackwrestling.com
• Registration closes Jan 17, 2018 (midnight or sooner if max number (550) is met.). No telephone entries accepted.
• Pay by check on day of tournament at coaches table. 1 check per club; payable to ONW Wrestling Booster Club
Parking lots and entrances will be open on both North and South sides of building.
Weigh-ins:
• Each club will conduct their own weigh-ins and do skin/nail checks on January 19; certified by club head coach
• Each club will enter their own wrestlers exact weight, into Track Wrestling, by 7:00 p.m. Friday Jan 19
• No on-site weigh-ins
Schedule:
• Coaches meeting: 8:30 am. Wrestling begins: 9:00 am prompt
• Concessions available all day -- Breakfast starting at 7:30 am; Lunch at 11 am
Rules:
• KSHSAA as modified by USAW Kansas Kids rules apply.
• Wrestlers with any skin disorder MUST have recent medical form.
• NO parents or wrestlers not competing will be allowed mat side.
• NO coolers or food allowed in gyms. (A large commons area and concessions are available.)

Awards: Medals awarded to top four Open placers, and all Novice entrants.

Registration on Track is now OPEN for our tournament. A reminder that last year we were filled up and closed the tournament the Friday night that was actually 8 days before the tournament itself...and as usual we are capped at 550 and have the matrix available so you can see if we are approaching full.
