Seniors won the other weights.

Undefeated
Scott Resler 145, Wathena Riverside, 42-0
Isiah Luellen 160 Rossville 19-0

Most wins
Christopher Gleason 106 , Mission Valley, 47.

First’s
106 fr. 30-4 Tom Vanvalkenburg of White City became their first ever state qualifier by placing 3 rd.

Amazing, heartfelt moments.

Before the event on Friday and Saturday about 200 folks knelt in prayer led by sophomore Gideon Remer, representing wrestlers for Christ. The entire gym went silent to respect the young folks on the mat!

The gym erupted to thank the veterans, first responders, police and firemen and their families.

2 Sabetha wrestlers, the Ukele brothers were recognized before the finals. They lost 3 family members in a horrific accident on the way home from winning state football. They stood tall and proud in the middle of the mat under the spotlight, as the crowd observed a deafening 42 seconds of silence followed by a standing ovation. Two outstanding young men, and of course the best fans on earth, wrestling fans!!

“It’s a great day to be alive”. Paid tribute to Jeremy Streumph. His happiness, his joy, his dedication continues to move many.

For anybody that reads this please put Cody Lambotte, (Rossville), on your prayer list. With his unmatchable spirit and your prayers, he continues to fight for his life! He continues to help kids every day of his life!

Thanks to so many that helped run a great tourney. Thanks to the great fans of wrestling!

Hey, one more accolade! The referee crew of Hutchison, Galemore, Woody, Harris and Seibel were outstanding. Very very little controversy! They interacted with fans, coaches and athletes all day long. Albeit the home crowd disagreed, their communication nailed a very difficult call in the final that only very few would have called correctly. I saw a referee reverse a call, which is another earmark of a great ref. Several of us were pretty good buddies to Jeremy Streumph. I felt I was watching referees that communicated like he did. That is high praise from this ol guy!! Good work!

Sorry it's probably been mentioned somewhere else before but what happened to Cody Lambotte?
