Some 4A rankings stats....
*82% of the state placers were in the top 6 rankings *28 wrestlers finished exactly as they were ranked *9 champs were correctly predicted *got 9 of the top 10 teams right & nailed the first 4
That's about it. But not bad, I'd say. I think we deserve a raise.
Good job ranking crew for all your hard work all year long.
And more importantly, congrats to all the state champs & placers!
If you weren't ranked and placed to prove us wrong...way to go, that's exactly what we like to see!
If you were ranked and placed, thanks for making us look good:)

It made it MUCH easier to do with Ark City in 4A. Next year KSHSAA will put the top 36 total enrollment count schools in 6A, the next 36 in 5A and 60% of the remaining WRESTLING schools in 4A leaving the remaining 40% in 321A. 4A could look something like this: Shawnee Mission-Bishop Miege Ottawa Winfield Augusta Buhler Paola Tonganoxie Kansas City-Piper Towanda-Circle Fort Scott El Dorado Independence Chanute Louisburg Mulvane Altamont-Labette County Coffeyville-Field Kindley Abilene Eudora Rose Hill Ulysses Atchison Wellington Wamego Baldwin Topeka-Hayden Andale Iola Clearwater Parsons Chapman Nickerson Garnett-Anderson County Wichita-Trinity Academy Carbondale-Santa Fe Trail Osawatomie Pratt LaCygne-Prairie View Holton Clay Center Community Girard Kansas City-Bishop Ward Columbus St. George-Rock Creek Baxter Springs Wichita Collegiate Galena Burlington Hugoton Concordia Meriden-Jefferson West Frontenac Larned Lindsborg-Smoky Valley Holcomb Marysville Hesston Scott Community Colby Goodland Wellsville Perry-Lecompton Haven Russell Halstead

I'm pleading with KSHSAA to please put a a page of school abbreviations in the front of the program next year. We're going to need it!

Correct, Will. Except one note, take out the schools without wrestling from that list, and that adjusts things slightly. It will bump a few more up from 321A.
Since the "60-40" formula is for the sport of wrestling only, it only affects schools that offer it.

And of course, next year's actual enrollment counts on Sept. 20-whatever date they determine the day to be....is the number that will be used. So there could be slight variations, but usually not much major differences.

According to this year's count. There were 61 schools in 4A and 8 of those will move up to 5A. That leaves 53 plus the 91 321a schools or 144 total. THat means there will be 84 schools in 4A and only 60 in 321a. Why not just have all of those in one classification?? 321a will be a joke!!

I believe it will be other way around.....60 in 4A and the rest in 321A.
Currently, 4A has 64 schools, but 4 schools that do not have wrestling, so 4A is 60 schools currently.
But with next year's formula only counting wrestling schools...4A will pretty much stay the same in terms of number of schools. And the top 7 or so 321A schools will come up to 4A. So 321A will be the only class with less schools than this year.

It is 40% of the remaining schools that offer in 4A. The remaining 60% will makeup 321A.
