COrrect, it never has been too roomy down there, and I've been there for the last 16-18 years. I did feel like this year was worse, for sure on the first day, second day, maybe it was the same......

Taking one age group (until finals where they would all be together) to the exhibition hall would alleviate a lot of the congestion. Remember, you would have 10 mats worth of kids, coaches, dads, moms, etc. on the floor now, rather than 14 mats worth.

Tulsa Nationals was in two rooms (one arena and one exhibition hall area) until they went to the 2 session system in a one room setting at the current venue. They brought everyone together for the finals.

My reflections of the tournament are that it has been the best one in 4 years. Congestion on the floor has always been an issue. Never thought much of it each year. The part that did get me was the wrestlers being in the coaches corners. We worked all sessions at a table and on many occasions, there were wrestlers plus coaches in the corners and on the mats. Thank you to the refs who noticed the line of sight was comproprimsed and worked with us on the score. The awards ran quickly as well. Kudos to parents for getting your kids over there. 1/2 mats should go away. It’s the state tournament. Don’t know what the answer is, but they gotta go. I’d be glad to brainstorm if needed. One issue my coaching staff had was that matches and mats need to be up earlier. Coaches sheets were late due to them not being up. I understand there is Saturday morning weigh-ins, but nothing can change. Wrestler doesn’t make weight, he doesn’t wrestle. Well ran tournament Mark and crew.

I personally know of 1 parent that helped run a table because he did not have a bronze card but wanted to coach his kids. Unfortunately, that gave him floor access for both days. I don't know how many other parents did this but that could be another reason for "coaches" without arm bands.

Why not run the opening day as a split session. That was you can use more mats to get through the opening round (wrestle the back side out one further round) this gets rid of some of the kids for day two and keeps people from having to spend 10 hours there on the first day.
