It is a free country - but 6 & Under national rankings - even 12 & under rankings are a bit far fetched - we need a wrestling rule that states the wrestler must have hair under their arm before ranking.
Exploiting minors for profit without parental permission - IMO is harmful for our sport and more importantly to the student athlete - PERIOD. Call me old fashion or I am sure you have a few other names. Go for it.

Did the parents of the kids give permission to these companies or did they just ask the kids to use their names in this promotional gimmick? Crap like this is not healthy for our sport and if you think it is not - IMO you are part of the problem our numbers are down nationwide and in the state of Kansas.

6 and Under
"Our RMN Event rankings are based on data from your Trackwrestling profile. The weight you are ranked at is based on the weight that was on your Trackwrestling profile. Trackwrestling trys to automatically update that weight based on the weight and/or weight class you most recently wrestled at. Be sure the weight on your Trackwrestling profile (along with any other relevant profile information) is accurate on that date."

RANKINGS:

6 & Under 40 - 76 Max
8 & Under 42 - 108 Max
10 & Under 49 - 143 Max
12 & Under 66 - 186 Max

How "Rankings" work:
Ranking calculation explanation: Everytime an athlete participates in a Trackwrestling event they receive a percentile finish for the weight class they participated in for that event. This percentile is calculated based on how they placed, and if they didn't place it is calculated based on the number of wins the wrestler earned. Because this is based on a percentile, placing 3rd in a bracket with 16 wrestlers is better than finishing 2nd in a bracket with 8. Once we have an average percentile finish at all levels at or below the level the wrestler competed at, we use the min and max points for the level to determine how many points the wrestler should receive at that level. Finally we take the average points earned in those levels to get the wrestler's final ranking. Only wrestlers that participate in a core event will receive a ranking and the core events are bolded in the list of events below. The ranking for a wrestler is calculated based on the results on their profile on the date the ranking was last calculated. This ranking was last calculated on 12/10/2014.
Level 1 - 2,500 - 5,000
03/17,18,19/2017 - Rocky Mountain Nationals
Level 2 - 125.00 - 2500.00
10/22,23/2014 - 2016 Southwest Kickoff Classic Freakshow
11/05/2016 - Monster Match Nationals
11/26/2016 - Grand Canyon Nationals
12/31/2016 - Who`s Bad? National Classic
01/14/2017 - New Mexico National Showdown
02/04/2017 - Wild West Championships
02/25/2017 - Rumble in Reno
03/11/2017 - Terminator World Championships

Rookies will be kept track of on an ongoing basis after each scheduled event. The Top Rookie of the Year will receive a Championship Belt at the Rocky Mountain Nationals in March.

Maybe it isn't that bad to have kids that young wrestling and competing in tournaments. Valencia from ASU had a interview today at the NCAA tournament and said he started wrestling at 2.

Followed Jake's Rankings from 6U till today. Rankings are good for the sport. Jake also wrestled in his first tournament two weeks before he turned 4. I don't see the harm.
