I am trying to remember what the final ruling was on the girls entries for District/State, I can't recall. I remember a lot of discussion.

Can girls enter Districts? Or are they ONLY allowed to enter State?

If they enter Districts, but lose and do not qualify, are they then allowed to enter Girls State?

From what I recall. Girls are only allowed to compete in the girls state.

The final vote was that girls are ONLY allowed to enter the state tournament in the Girl's Division. No girl's will be allowed to enter Districts as this will be boy's only.
They will keep a similar format to what has taken place at the Girl's State Tournament in previous years.

Yes girls can only enter the girls division. The format will be the same as girls state im McPherson was. With the exception there will be no 6U at Topeka. Only 8u just like the boys division. I wish that there would have been a 6U girls division added at 6U state. There are alot of girls in the 6U age divisions that don't have a shot at a girls state title unless they enter in 8U.

I agree a girls division at 6U state would be nice to have. Might as well Give the girls an opportunity in all state aspects even at 6u.

When you say only 8U for girls. What does that mean?

What about girls in 10U or 12U?

The youngest age group is 8U. I believe they will have all age groups from 8U and up. I stated only 8U referring to the 6U wouldn't have their own age group like they did in McPherson.

Are the ages going to mirror the boy's division at state? Right now the ages are 9u,12u,15u for girls.

They will match the same age groups defined for Kansas Kids Folkstyle (seen here: http://www.usawks.com/Kids/age.htm ) (8U/10U/12U/14U/HS)

What about weights? Will they match the boys division or be grouped after weigh-ins?
