kansaswrestling.org has the following tournaments listed. With the anticipated Girls Wrestling vote coming in April, Can we add to this list? Please Confirm that you are still having your tournament as well! Personally I would like to get a jump start on a schedule for next year. Fredonia will continue to host our women's Invitational alongside our men's Invitational on Feb. 1st, 2020

Basehor-Linwood will continue to host our girls tournament but it is being moved to the second competition weekend in January. It will now run on the same weekend as the Bobcat Classic and Newton TOC. I believe the new date is Saturday, January 18th.

When is KSHSAA voting on Girls Wrestling? I thought it was this month but I couldn't remember exactly when. Thanks!!!

I am not sure on the date but it is in April. I am assuming towards the end of the month as I noticed last year the meeting minutes were around the 27th I believe.

KSHSAA meetings are April 25-27.

Independence High School is looking to host one on 1/25/19. Will be official in the next couple weeks.

Now that the KSHSAA measure has passed - did the language determine what the post-season dates or setup would be? Trying to work on our schedule and didn't know if the language of the measure included post-season dates or if that information is TBA.

Hopefully Coach Kretzer can weigh in on that. If I remember right he said that the Regional tournament would be the weekend before Boys Regionals, (Saturday February 15 2020?) and the Girls State will be the Thursday before Boys state at Salina (February 27th 2020?).

I am not sure if this is correct but I think this was the conversation Coach Kretzer and I had.

Looking for any tournaments listed above to add to the list to still be confirmed and/or added in order to help coaches fill schedules.

Specifically for Jan 11 and Jan 18th. for the "Western" half of the state!

We are considering hosting a Thursday Girls Jamboree on Jan. 9th.

JC HARMON IS WANTING TO HOST A GIRLS DUAL/DOUBLE DUAL THIS NEXT YEAR: We're open on dates but I am just trying to see if school would be interested. I think it would be a great way to showcase the sport. Email Coach Zach Davies if you have interest, zachary.davies@kckps.org

Also, What are the weight classes going to be for Girls?

The weight classes I believe are TBD based on the Alpha Weights of all the girls across the state. Someone correct me if I am wrong as I am not 100% sure on that.

Nathan, That is my understanding as well based on what I read from the proposal. They will determine the weight classes after alpha weigh ins. I don't know if they are going 10 weights or 11 weights though. I think they will try to mirror the weight classes from Texas or another state that has had girls wrestling for some time now.

Just moving this up. Lets keep a list going between this one or the one in girls forum.

Great Bend is currently looking to go somewhere Jan 11 and 18th.

Did any of you send out a letter to the High School female athletes informing them that KSHSAA had sanctioned girls wrestling? If so would you be willing to share the letter?
