As we are all prepping our off season plans, I wanted to get some info out about the summer wrestling league that we are planning on hosting this upcoming June at Holton High School. This event will consist of round robin matches conducted June 3, 10, 17, and 24 and will be very similar to the Top City Summer League hosted by Topeka Seaman in past summers. Who: Boys Middle School -Wrestlers who will be in grades 6-8 during the 2021-22 school year.
Boys High School -Wrestlers who will be in grades 9-12 during the 2021-22 school year.
Girls Middle School -Wrestlers who will be in grades 6-8 during the 2021-22 school year.
Girls High School -Wrestlers who will be in grades 9-12 during the 2021-22 school year.
What: An opportunity to wrestle in competitive matches during the off-season. All matches will be three, 1 1/2 minute periods. The tournament will use
Madison bracketing where athletes are grouped in pools according to weight with no rigid weight classes. Pools will compete in a
round robin format tournament with the goal being four matches for each participant. Teams scoring will also be incorporated with seven individuals
making up a team. Schools may enter multiple teams. Only five individuals will be part of the team scoring, the other two will be alternates incase
someone on your team is unable to attend that week. Team and individual awards – Weight class, All-Tournament Team as well as Outstanding
Wrestler and Most Falls Award winners. Awards will also be presented to the division Team Champions.
When: Thursday, June 3, 10, 17, & 24 6:00 pm start time. Weigh-ins will be held from 6:00 – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 1st at Holton High School
to establish weights for the event. Wrestlers may also weigh in at a pre-approved satellite site any time on Monday, May 31st or Tuesday, June 1st.
Satellite weigh-in managers will email weigh-in results to Coach Jackson at c.jackson@holtonks.net.
Where: Competition will be held in the Holton High School JV Gym. 901 New York Ave. Holton, Ks 66436
Cost: $150.00 per team (must have seven individuals) or $25.00 per wrestler if wrestling unaffiliated or with a team of less than seven members.
A current USA Wrestling card is also required. Individuals – please send payment with this registration form. Teams – Designated team
Coach/Manager will make payment for the entire team. Individual team members must also fill out the registration form.
