I saw Ken a few years back in Pittburg at the High School nationals. He was currently coaching somewhere up north in one of the Dakota's if I remember correctly. Someone else told me that he had been named coach of the year several times wherever he was at.
For those of you youngsters who don't know who Ken Piazza was. Ken lead Beloit to 6 straight state championships and his teams were some of the best this state will ever see. Many of the big schools wouldn't step on the mat with them because they didn't want to be beaten by such a small school.

I had thought he went to Worland, Wyo. but am not sure. I know that Beloit has never been the same since. Mr. Piazza's ability to develop the teams and individuals that he did would truly set him aside as one of the best Kansas coaches in the modern era. He was one of the first to take on the NWK domination of the sport and break it, not once, but several (I think seven, if memory serves me ) times in a row. When you look at how porrly some H.S. teams do year after year under the same coach, perhaps Lancer's comment is true-- maybe there are some coaches that never coach high school wrestling!

Ken Piazza went to Cody, Wyoming when he left Beloit and has been there ever since. A point of interest: his son was a baseball player and played at Garden City Juco and Southwest Missouri State in Springfield. His senior year, SMSU qualified for the college world series and he was the starting catcher.
