Gilliland and Jones wrestled at kids state last year and it was a very close match, I think jones won by 2 points. I am sure if they met again it would be a very close match that could go either way.

I'm not sure about the tiny guys, but I think Deshazer would win 103. I also think Nathan Payne would win 171, Hemmerling would dominate 215 with his brontosaurus body and huge banana fingers, and FatPat would win heavyweight. I also don't know about Rhodes winning 160. I don't know who would, but isn't Medill from Lansing good?

If you paid attention to your wrestling, as someone said earlier they mentioned Gilliland wrestled Jones and only lost to him by a point that was the true score. So if you count him out of Grand state think again, mat has got alot better on his feet where he could have won the match against Jones. Anyone has a chance to win at any given time.

I know, but he's a fan favorite.

Who can challenge Venegas? I've never seen him wrestle, but I'm sure he's very good. How are the 321a heavies?

I think no one can beat Venegas, he is pretty unstopable. He is huge, quick, and has a good shot.

Replying to Jones and Gilliand, If you haven't noticed(which you haven't noticed much else) I know for a fact all of Gillaind matches against above average wrestlers are usually two or three point decisions, this is not taking away from the fact he is very good, and will be a four time state champ. If you have noticed Jones' matches all end up close too, so I would have to say that a 2 point win by jones is a rather big win in the match of these two. And to the fact that anyone can beat anyone on any certain day, that is true, but what does that have to do with this subject, if I said that why wouldn't I put a j.v. wrestler from Topeka and say he would beat Jones.

Jones wrestles wins most of his matches by one to two points whether the wrestler is outstanding or just above average. It is just his style of wrestling. You are not going to take the OXEN down and yes he will probably give you an escape point just as he will get his escape point. Jones is dominating!

I'm sorry, but your saying jones only wins by a couple of points every time....I haven't seen jones wrestle this year. Gilliland doesn't win by very much each match, but he dominates just like jones. It would be a very good match....Jones winning at kids state by a couple of points doesn't mean that he dominated gilliland by any means what so ever.

Hart from Shawnee Heights would win at 160. Nobody in Kansas has really even come close to him this year (his only loss being to a Missouri kid at Lee's Summit).

Small school kids seldom get the respect that they deserve. If you will look at the pastresults of the national high school championships you will find that many times KS kids have met, and the size of the school or the side of the state has little do do with success.

Gardner wins easily. Since Schwartz (great bend) graduated last year, Garcia (hutch) is the only one that could give Gardner a match. Baldridge (campus) could too if he was at 119 but he is not.

I doubt Baldrige would give him that great of a match. Tanner beat him 9-3 last year. I think Garcia and Kreigbaum would be his two main competitors.

I also agree about Phil Hart at 160. He was been completely dominating this year. I didnt see his match last week in the semis of Hays, but even though he only won by four, I would go out on a limb and say he still completely dominated the match. At 160, Phil is in a class of his own this year.

Here's some names of guys Hart has beat this year. 4A #1 Clark-Wellington, #3 Lattimer-Ft. Scott, #4 Brack-Goodland 5A #2 Figge-Turner, #3 Sanger-Hays, 6A #3 Glessner-Jct. City, 3-2-1A #2 Campbell-Hoxie, #4 Ross St. Francis,

He has won outstanding wrestler awards at Colby Duals Tourney, Derby Tourney and has taken first at Derby, Basehor-Linwood, Hays, Shawnee Co., and 2nd at Lees Summit. His record is 32-1 and is looks untouchable from the neutral position.

Not sure if he is #1 of all 160 lbers but he is having a great year and beating some great wrestlers by pretty good margins.

Baldridge beat Kriegbuam this summer in freestyle, so I guess in your line of thinking lebowski that takes Kriegbaum out of the mix also.

kreigbaum is a temendous wrestler and so are garcia and tanner. it would be close between all 3 but i think tanner would get the upper hand in this one.
